TEN PITFALLS IN THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY

TOPIC:  *TEN PITFALLS IN THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY* BY – DANIEL AFI 1. *Money and Fame* Money is a major destroyer of a prophetic calling. Some prophets have fallen because of the love of money. Balaam was led to prophesy to Balak because of money. Do not allow money to lead you into prophecy. We easily release prophetic words when someone gives us an earthly blessing. Some give scaring prophecies to people and make financial demand to use the money to avert the danger. You must be led by the Spirit before prophesying. Beloved, what is motivating you to prophesy? Some prophecies are founded on pride and the craving for fame and popularity. I discovered that true prophets of God usually hide their identity; they don’t want to be known. There were 7,000 quiet prophets in Israel during the time of Elijah that refused to bow to Baal. 2. *Over Familiarity with the Prophetic Office:* This is another pitfall in the prophetic Ministry. The sin of profanity is taking the thing...

DENY YOURSELF, CARRY YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME

TOPIC: DENY YOURSELF, TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME BY: ENWENEMATI KINIKA KINGSLEY (LLB) TEXT: MARK 8:31 Introduction: He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. "Get behind me, Satan!" he said. "You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Mark 8:31-34) So what I would like for us to look at is "How do we DENY ourselves?" Because obviously we need to. The first thing I want to do is define the word "deny".  The on-line dictionary lists several...

PREPARE A HABITATION FOR GOD

TOPIC: PREPARE A HABITATION FOR GOD TEXT: EXODUS 15:2 BY: ENWENEMATI KINIKA KINGSLEY (LLB) The children of Israel were in captivity for years and suddenly God delivered them from the hands of their enemies. I prophesy that this same God will not only hear your cry and see your afflictions but that He will also deliver you from all your troubles. After the children of Israel crossed the red sea, they sang in Exo. 15:2, “The Lord is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him”. Moses and the people soon realized that this God that gave them such a victory cannot be overlooked or taken for granted. They so much desired His continued presence that they committed to preparing a habitation for Him through praising Him. The obvious question therefore will be how do I prepare a habitation for the Lord? The answer is not farfetched. Ps 22:3, says “But thou art holy, O thou that inhab...

KEYS TO TERRITORIAL TAKEOVER

TOPIC: KEYS TO TERRITORIAL TAKEOVER (3) – THE FIGHTING SPIRIT By: Dr. Paul Enenche (Donamis Int'l Ministry) The fighting spirit is a non-negotiable necessity for the taking over of territories and the possession of gates You cannot begin to possess until you are set to contend Possession is accompanied by contention (Matt. 11:12) Spiritual aggression is required for spiritual possession (Matt. 11:12) It is the violent, not the timid, that take things in the realm of the Spirit If you avoid the fight, you forfeit the flight; if you avoid the fight, you forfeit the height In any realm you find yourself, it is important that you are a fighter! You need to be fightful! This life has no mercy on people who don’t have guts! SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WITH THE FIGHTING SPIRIT: 1. Caleb (Josh. 14:6-14) It is battle readiness that guarantees destiny fulfilment You are not set for your right until you are set to fight It takes a fight to get your right; it takes coura...

GOD WORKS IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY

Topic: The Mystery of Pain and Sorrow Text: Isaiah 57:15 I suppose that one of the greatest mysteries about God and His movement is that He often works through pain and sorrow. That God would allow one of His children to suffer seems so contrary to what we know and believe about Him. Our tendency is to think that God’s children should be immune from difficulty. We reason that there should be a hedge of protection put around us that keeps us from all harm. Yet scripture teaches us over and over again that suffering is sometimes a part of God’s will for our lives. The book of Isaiah tells us something very special about God’s feelings towards His children who are suffering. Isaiah 57:15 "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." Perhaps there are few m...
