SELF-CONTROL OVER OFFENSES

 Galatians 5:22-23

But, the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.

SELF-CONTROL

Self-control is thinking before acting. And seriously considering the possible results before taking any action.

 Before you react, always think of what the action might lead to.

 It might lead to;

✓ Public Disgrace,

✓ Dispute; among families, Friends & Colleagues, couples. 

✓ Malice

✓ Lack of Peace of Mind.

SELF-CONTROL OVER OFFENSES

Luke: 7:1

  Then said He to the Disciples, it is impossible that offenses should , bunot comet woe to him through whom they do come.

As a human being, it is not possible that people won't offend you.

People will surely offend you in your house, office, school, market places, in the street and even inside the church.

• Both the Rich and Poor faces offense.

• Good and the Bad people faces offense.

The offenses shouldn't be your problem, but how to control yourself should be your priority.

The only way to Control yourself is to act as a fool. 

Mathew 5:39

But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whosoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other to him also.

This simply means you should be a fool for peace to reign. When someone look for your trouble and see that you don't have time to respond to them, they will get tired and walk away

One thing is sure, those who trouble you when you do them nothing, God said, woe to them.

God watches over His own, He said we should hold our peace and He will fight for us. Vengeance is of the Lord.

When we hold our peace, God will surely arise and defend us from any offenses that may come to cause us pain.

May the Lord our God give you the grace to overcome temptation and also give you the spirit of SELF-CONTROL.

OH LORD, SHOW ME MERCY

And he showed me Joshua the high Priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. (Zachariah3:1) Zechariah 3 talks of a vision shown by God Almighty to the prophet Zechariah concerning Joshua who was the High Priest at the time. The job of Joshua as the High Priest is to connect the people to God by generally praying and interceding for them.  It therefore means that in carrying out this duty, Joshua must approach God in righteousness because the God we are talking about is a God whose eyes are so pure that they cannot behold iniquity.
